Understand God's Forgiveness
Sunday, December 8, 2019 Jeremiah chapter twenty-nine is referring to the time that Israel sinned against God and for that sin, God had the Babylonians take them captive and remain captive in Babylon for a period of seventy years. Typically, when we think of the seventy-year captivity of Israel, we think of punishment. We think of God dealing out punishment as the consequence of sin. However, in today's sermon, Elder Chris Taylor encourages the congregation to look at the story a little differently. To instead look at it as an act of forgiveness - God's rich forgiveness - and what that means to us.
